Revolutionary New Shoes From Nike – The Zoom Mamba

Towards the end of January 2010, Nike announced its premium Track Running shoes, the Nike Zoom Mamba along with two other new releases Nike Matumbo and Nike Victory Spike Running Shoes. Not long after, almost all international and national level track running meets saw competitors wearing blazing green or florescent orange running shoes. Although these shoes are quite appealing to the eye, they are equally flattering in their technology.

Weighing in at just under 4.5 ounces, these ultra lightweight spike Runners are the third lightest running shoes in the world. What the Mamba offers extra over other similar shoes is that it can be substituted for distance running. The design of the Shoe allows it to be used by 500 meters to 5000 meter runners as well as marathon runners.

Pylon, a space age foam, graces the midsoles of these shoes along with carbon fiber shanks, which offers ultra light weight protection from the incessant pounding one’s feet takes while running. However, the lack of sufficient foaming will leave sore calves after a long distance run. In order to accommodate long distance runs, the Mamba comes with a removable set of Spikes which go under the forefoot plates. These add no extra weight and increase traction for track runs and cross country races.

The upper build of the shoe is equally light with a highly breathable fabric covering which offers protection from the elements as well as the chance to feel the wind drive through one’s feet. The lack of excess padding on top is not a concern as it is designed to grip the feet properly allowing great traction without loss of comfort.

The standout feature of Nike Zoom Mamba is its forefoot sharkskin plate. It spans out in all directions with a grid like pattern and small points extending out of it so as to increase traction on muddy and dirt surfaces – a perfect companion on cross country runs.

The lightweight high performance design of this Nike running shoes has won many supporters right from the high school level to the professional level. Although the Nike Zoom Mamba may come at a very high cost, this ultra modern racing shoe is a dream come true for any high performance runner.
